Quarters Privacy Policy

Quarters is a forecasting and survey service that provides users with the ability to record and download time series predictions for multiple assets and asset classes.

While using and interacting with Quarters's websites, apps, products, and services, we process information from you and about you, in order to provide access to the tools you need, a functional service experience, and support. That means that your information is collected, used, transmitted, shared, stored, and erased.

This document describes how your information is processed and explains the options regarding your data.

1. Privacy Commitment​

  • allow you to manage and review your marketing choices at any time
  • always keep your information safe and private

2. When is my information processed​

Personal information will be collected when you use:

  • the Quarters app; regardless of the delivery platform
  • any of the services accessible in the Quarters app or website
  • the website and its subdomains at quarters.ai

Quarters's services and apps will collect and process information that is either directly received from you or collected from third parties about you. This processing is performed entirely in an automatic mode, in order for us to provide a functional service experience.

Note that this Privacy Statement does not apply in the case of processing of your information through your use of any third-party integrations available via our services. Please visit those third-party websites directly for more information on their privacy and data protection practices.

3. Information received directly from you​

A. Information required to create an account​

This includes information that is needed for Quarters to create an account for you and provide the ability to log in and out of this account.

  • identifiers, such as first and last name and email address
  • your chosen password
  • marketing preferences
  • third-party authentication identity provider supplied information, such as "Sign in with ..."

B. Information regarding your subscription plan​

This includes information which is required for us to provide and differentiate between a premium account and a free one.

  • information about your current subscription plan
  • billing information, such as name, address, and telephone number
  • financial information, such as credit card information collected and stored solely by payment processors
  • payment metadata, including plan start and end dates, country, location, and time of payment

C. Information you provide through your use of Quarters​

This includes information required for using the service and its functionalities

  • information you provide by configuring the app for your specific needs
  • information you provide by forecasting using the Q-shaped widget for recording time series
  • information you upload in the service, such as files, images
  • any other information you choose to provide while using Quarters that can reasonably identify you

D. Other information provided by interacting with Quarters in other ways​

  • information you provide when you are contacting Quarters, such as assistance requests
  • information you provide voluntarily by interacting with employees, sales staff, user research, or through the beta testing initiative
  • information to verify your identity
  • audio and video information about yourself while participating in a sales call; if you do not opt-out of call recording

4. Information automatically processed​

This section includes information that is automatically processed when you are interacting with the service.

A. Information processed when you visit the website or open the app​

This includes:

  • information from your device which may include location information
  • metadata information such as IP address, time, and date
  • information from third parties about your visit

B. Information processed when you are interacting with the service​

  • information and metadata provided by third-party integrations
  • activity metadata such as clicks, time, and date, which may help us understand better how you use the service
  • actions you take as you use Quarters
  • forecasts which may reveal sentiment and/or subjective opinion about publicly traded assets which you provide voluntarily while using the service
  • information regarding the usage patterns, including but not limited to the number of campaigns and forecasts performed per day

C. Information processed and obtained from your device​

The following information is collected from your device through the use of automated scripts, APIs, or SDKs:

  • device information and activity when you use Quarters on a mobile device
  • device identifiers, operating system version, and mobile network information
  • device sensor outputs such as accelerometer or orientation information
  • information such as the type of device you are using
  • language preferences
  • inbound/outbound pages and referring URLs
  • IP address, browser type, and settings
  • tracking information obtained using cookies and/or similar tracking technologies
  • indirect geolocation information such as location estimated using your IP address
  • number of clicks and their corresponding date and time information
  • page or screen visit duration, click patterns and timings, mouse hovers

5. How do you use my information?​

This section refers to our internal processes and how stored information about you and given by you is processed while you are not interacting with any app or service. This usually involves manual tasks which may be performed by a real person such as a Quarter's employee or subcontractor. This processing happens under strict supervision and while keeping our contracts and agreements with you.

A. Marketing purposes​

Your information is used for marketing in order to contact you regarding product changes, upcoming services and usage tips.

We may use your personal information to do the following:

  • send you details of our products and services, such as subscription plan and new features which are made available
  • contact you for providing customer support and/or technical assistance
  • measure, analyze and understand the impact of our changes to your experience
  • if explicitly agreed by you, allow our partners and their organizations to send you promotional information about their goods and/or services
  • understand the effectiveness and impact of advertising campaigns, and provide relevant advertising to you

Your options regarding marketing settings can be controlled at any time by managing your marketing preferences within the app or clicking on unsubscribe links found within marketing emails.

B. Keeping our service up and running​

We need this personal information to provide you with the access to our services and apps and cannot provide them in a functional manner without it.

We use your personal information to:

  • manage our service and apps
  • detect if you a bot, spammer or a malicious third-party
  • debugging, troubleshooting and reproducing crashes
  • research, survey and statistical purposes
  • make sure that the content is displayed properly to you on your device
  • migrate or replicate databases containing your personal information across different countries or regions in order to improve availability and comply with data regulation laws
  • to inform you about changes to the Quarters service

6. Your rights regarding your personal information​

A. Right to be informed​

You have the right to see the personal information which we have about you. This is called a DSAR or data subject access request.

If you think your information is wrong, you can ask us to correct it. We may be required to check the accuracy of the new information.

You have the right to ask us to delete your personal information if:

  • there's no good reason for us to continue using it
  • you priorly withdrawn your consent for us to use your information
  • you priorly objected to us using your information
  • we are required by the law to delete your information
  • we have used the information unlawfully

E. Objecting to our use of your information​

If you disagree with us using your information you have the right to object to us using it.

  • you can object to us processing your information for marketing purposes
  • you can object to us to use your information for other reasons; if we need that information in order to provide the service to you, we may need to close your account since the service can't function without it
  • if there is any overriding reason why we may need to use your information we may not be able to accept your request; example: legal reasons

F. Restricting how we use your personal information​

You can ask us to restrict how we use your personal information for the following reasons:

  • to investigate whether it is accurate
  • you do not want us to delete it, since you think our use of your information is unlawful
  • in connection with a legal claim
  • you have objected to us using your information

G. Transferring your information​

You have the right to ask us to transfer your personal information to you.

  • if we are required by regulatory requirements, we will transfer your information in a structured format

H. Withdrawing your permission​

In the situation you have given us your consent to use your personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. You can do this by sending an email at privacy@quarters.ai. Up to the point of you withdrawing your consent, it will have been lawful for us to use your personal information.

7. Exercising your rights​

To exercise your rights detailed by the previous section, you need to contact us by email at privacy@quarters.ai.

We may require additional verification from you when you perform such a request in order for us to validate your identity. If you cannot provide us with the required information we reserve the right to deny your request and inform the rightful account owner of any suspicious activities, which may involve sharing your personal information.

We will not discriminate against you in any way for exercising your rights.

8. Is my information shared with anyone else?​

The list below covers third parties which may receive personal information about you.

A. Suppliers​

This list below covers which suppliers we usually share your personal information with, in order for the Quarters app, website and service to be provided to you.

  • suppliers who provide us with IT services
  • online payment service providers

B. Communications services providers​

  • email marketing services, to help us send you emails in a concise, easy to opt-out manner
  • push notification and text messaging services, to keep you up to date and allow features like 2FA (Two factor authentication) to work

C. Advertisers​

We share anonymous information only with advertisers and advertising platforms, in order for us to promote the service.

D. Other visitors, users or customers​

Data may be shared between our users and customers about each other in order for them to connect and communicate. This is necessary for social and survey features to function properly for the users or customers leveraging them. We only show basic contact information between users. If such information is to be shared, we will make our best to display this in a concise manner.

E. Search and analytics providers​

We may need to share information about you with search and analytics providers in order for us to:

  • measure our website effectiveness
  • help improve the app

We may need to share your personal information with third-parties:

  • if we are required by any law or regulation
  • in relation to legal claims
  • in connection with a criminal or fraud investigation
  • to enforce our rights, and keep our platform secure
  • if the company is sold

9. How is my information protected?​

Quarters's services and apps are developed and maintained following the industry's best practices and recommended security guidelines to ensure that your information is protected at all times.

Although the communication between your device and our servers is encrypted using SSL/HTTPS, we cannot guarantee that the information exchanged from the Internet with our systems is completely secure. Once that information reaches our servers, we will use strict procedures and follow security measures to protect it.

  • your information is stored on secure DigitalOcean servers, a top 5 IaaS cloud provider which has data centers in major regions across the globe
  • when you use a password to log in to the apps and services, that password is stored in our servers only in a hashed format using a salt key; please make sure that your password choice reflects your security requirements
  • we recommend to keep your personal information confidential and refrain from posting it online, information which could lead someone to guess or recover account access
  • any payment you make within the apps or services is processed entirely by trusted payment processors (App Store, Google Play, etc). There is no need for us to read or store your card information, and we would not want to, due to legal compliance costs

10. How long will you keep my information stored​

Generally, your personal information will not be stored on our servers for more than three years after you end your account. If we are obliged by legal duties or suspect any illicit, spamming or DDoS activities we will keep your information stored for as long as required.

11. Updating you about changes in how we use your information​

When we make changes to this policy, it will be displayed at the top of this document, with an enforcement date of at least two weeks after becoming publicly available. We will attempt to send an update via email to inform you about how the changes to this policy may affect you. If you are a former customer or user, you won't receive any of these emails; it is your responsibility to check periodically the updates of this document.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to provide a useful experience, to analyze how you use our service, and for advertising purposes, including third-party cookies. Please review the Cookies Policy to learn more about cookies.
